‘The Hub’ development – major structural work

Construction work on The Hub, the new central information point for students, continues at a pace. To allow major structural work to be undertaken it is anticipated that the foyer area of the Robertson Trust Library building at Paisley Campus will be required to close completely from Friday 1 July for up to five weeks.

Every step will be taken to minimise disruption and alternative signage will be in operation throughout this period. Students are thanked for their patience during this key part of the construction process.

All student facing services including the first point of contact for the Library, Student Services, ITDS and Finance queries will be accessible via The Hub.

Construction works on the new facility commenced on 23rd May and will last approximately 14 weeks with The Hub being operational by September. Whilst The Hub will be physically located on the Paisley Campus it will be accessible online and via telephone across all UWS campuses.

The Hub area will provide a vibrant space for students which will include self-help resources, a service desk and both learning and social spaces. It will also feature pop-up spaces for events and campaigns and self service functions/equipment. The key aim is to ‘put the student experience at the heart of what we do’ and support the UWS truth ‘we are here for our students’.

Students will be kept fully updated during The Hub construction process. However if you have any question regarding the project please contact Liz O’Reilly on 0141 848 3994 or email elizabeth.o’reilly@uws.ac.uk
