UWS Standing Safe campaign launch
The University is establishing a student-staff partnership initiative, aimed at sexual violence prevention, the UWS Standing Safe campaign.
The campaign, which will be aimed at students from across the University, will be officially launched at Paisley Campus (Brough Hall) on Wednesday 14 September 2016, 1pm-4pm. The launch event will include guest speakers from organisations such as Rape Crisis, the NHS and Police Scotland and will feature poster presentations showcasing research from staff and students, as well as a number of stalls from relevant external organisations.
The campaign will see close collaborative working with a number of national organisations and activists in a number of different ways, starting from the new academic year. The project aims to engage with students in an attempt to reflect on harmful attitudes, support safe bystander intervention and provide a tool kit to ensure that students know how and where to get support.
Further details on the launch event, and the campaign in general, will be announced in the coming months. If you have any queries or would like to be involved in the launch event and/or the wider campaign please email Kallia Manoussaki or John Black.
