Following our very successful Annual Research Conference last week, I would like to draw your attention to the following:
- I wish to hold fortnightly surgery meetings with ALL colleagues who may be interested to meet me. Lyndonne will be arranging for these. For the sake of efficiency, I would prefer to meet with “groups” of colleagues, who may wish to discuss their collective issues. Nonetheless, I would welcome one-to-one meetings, provided there are enough time slots available. The first meeting is scheduled for Monday 22 February @ 2pm on Paisley Campus (venue TBC once numbers are known). Please email Lyndonne.Kelly if you are interested in attending.
- I have commissioned a Research & Enterprise SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis for all units, including Schools, Institutes and supporting services. This will be conducted by Associate Deans (R&E) at each School and coordinated by R&E Services. The outcome of this analysis will allow us to understand clearly where we are “now” and will help us to develop our short- and long-term strategies towards our 3- and 5-year targets. I have made it clear that all staff will have the opportunity to contribute or participate in this very important exercise. I would appreciate if you would respond to SWOT questionnaires candidly, proactively and clearly.
Wishing you all the best,
Professor Ehsan Mesbahi
Vice-Principal and Pro-Vice Chancellor Research & Enterprise
